Wilderness Fishing Outposts in Sunset Country, Ontario

With so many remote northern lakes, Sunset Country has a wide variety of fly-in or boat-in outposts to choose from. Imagine flying into a secluded outpost cabin in Ontario with nothing around except you, the wilderness and the fish and wildlife. Sunset Country covers a vast area of Northwestern Ontario - 60,000 square miles of forest and lakes are awaiting you. Since there are 70,000 fishable lakes in Sunset Country, your options are almost endless. Fish for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth or largemouth bass, brook or lake trout, musky and perch.

As you embark on your fly-in adventure, you'll step aboard a venerable Canadian bush plane. Maybe it will be a single or twin engine Otter, a Beaver or a Beech. If you're flying north of Red Lake there's a good chance you'll be flying in a Norseman - Red Lake is known as the Norseman Capital of the World. Other aircraft choices include Cessna floatplanes, Piper Cubs as well as a few others. The experience of flying in a bush plane is a great part of the trip and your bird's eye view of the landscape below will be nothing less than breathtaking.

The fishing? Well it's nothing less than spectacular! These remote lakes see only a few dozen fishing parties each year and offer anglers an experience like no other. It's almost like fishing out of a barrel! Go after trophy walleye, massive northern pike or muskellunge, fighting smallmouth bass or lunker lake trout. Fly in to a secluded arctic river system and try your luck fly-fishing for brook trout. Fish for one species in the morning and another later in the day - you'll never be bored that's for sure.

Many of our fly-in outfitters also offer remote hunting trips for black bear, moose and whitetail deer. Hunt in a truly secluded setting - remote areas with no roads for miles. Wildlife populations in these parts of Ontario are abundant, giving hunters a high probability for a successful hunt.
