The three largest lakes are Lake of the Woods, Rainy Lake and Lac Seul. Lake of the Woods is the second largest in-land lake in Ontario with over 14,000 islands and 65,000 miles of shoreline. It is a maze of islands, channels and coves. The lake is well charted and is easily navigated. Lac Seul is a crescent shaped reservoir approximately 150 kilometres long (94 miles). It is the second largest body of water entirely in the Province of Ontario. Lac Seul is located on the former lake bed of glacial Lake Agassiz. Lac Seul's relatively shallow and tea coloured water makes it excellent for walleye and northern fishing. Rainy Lake borders the U.S./Canada International border and is known for its great smallmouth bass fishing.

You'll find beautifully developed waterfronts and marinas along the shores of Sunset Country, perfect for sailing, yachting, rowing and houseboating.
