Kenora is situated on the north end of Lake of the Woods. There are plenty of accommodations to choose from. On Lake of the Woods, you can choose between drive-in resorts or boat-in island lodges. Full-service American Plan packages are available for those that like to be pampered, or for those who like to be on their own schedule and want to do their own cooking, you can rent a housekeeping cottage. Kenora is also a starting off point for many of the fly-in outpost cabins. You can fly to lakes such as Brown Bear, Lount, Nance, Norse, Roger, Scenic, Snowshoe, Trapline and Walleye. There are many other lakes surrounding Kenora including Andy Lake, Black Sturgeon, Dogtooth, Dryberry, Hawk, Highwind, Longbow Lake and the Winnipeg River.

You can fish for a wide variety of species in the Kenora area - walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, muskie, crappie, lake trout, perch and whitefish. Hunt for whitetail deer, black bear, moose, wolves, waterfowl and grouse. There are plenty of activities to do at the area lodges and resorts or you can drive into the city for a break from the lake. Kenora boasts several gift shops, clothing stores, and many other retail outlets. You won't want to miss the Lake of the Woods Museum, the Heritage Murals that cover many of the city's building walls, Husky the Muskie, the Railway Museum and the Harbourfront.
