Devlin, Ontario is located on Highway 11/71 between Emo and Fort Frances. Take Highway 613 north to reach the Northwest arm of Rainy Lake and Lake Despair. Fish for walleye, northern pike, trout, crappie and bass on Rainy Lake or one of the many portage or near-by lakes. Rainy Lake is renowned for its smallmouth bass fishing. In the winter, the area has excellent ice fishing for crappies, lake trout and northern pike. Lake Despair is on a chain of three lakes. Go from Lake Despair through Mile River into Footprint Lake then through the picturesque Jackfish Narrows into Jackfish Lake. It is easliy accessible by boat. The Clearwater and Pipestone chain of lakes are also accessible from the chain of lakes without ever getting out of your boat by the mechanical portage.
